Daily high-speed weather in Delhi-NCR
has improved air pollution levels, although air quality is still a poor
category. Air pollution is expected to remain at about that level for about two
days.
If the wind continues to accelerate,
further improvement is expected. NCR Gurugram recorded the lowest air quality
index at 172 and Faridabad at 215.
Over the last week, air quality in the
capital has remained extremely poor for four days (November 20-23), but sudden
changes in weather and airspeed have damaged pollutants. The incidence of
stubble burning also decreased during this period. Air Quality Index Delhi 17
November Made up 215 compared to 357 the day before. That is, it dropped 72
points in 24 hours. The index was recorded 234 versus 312 on Sunday, November
23rd.
In a strictly worded order, a
committee of judges Arun Mishra and Deepak Gupta said the life expectancy of
millions of citizens had been shortened and people were "suffocating"
due to Delhi-NCR pollution. Calling the capital 'narco' (hell), the court said:
'Can you treat people this way and let them die from pollution? We cannot allow
any government to shorten people's lives. "
Researchers say the burning of crop
residues is an uncontrolled combustion process, which leads to the emission of
large amounts of microscopic particles and carbon dioxide as the main products
of combustion with other gaseous products. Weakness in lung function in
childhood can have long-term effects on children's health. The increasing
density of harmful microscopic particles in the atmosphere is mainly attributed
to this. More studies need to be done to find out the effects of these
microscopic particles on health.
The study, conducted by researchers
from the Indian Ocean Meteorological Department, Pune, and Thapar University,
Patiala, has been published in the research journal Measurement. In addition to
Dr. Mittal, Gurpreet S. Saggu, Ravinder Aggarwal and Gurfan Baig.
